Explore the coastline and all of its native plants and wildlife as you hike from Trinidad State Beach to Elk Head Point.
Why choose between a day at the beach and a hike through the forest when you can have both? This hike highlights the very best vistas that Humboldt has to offer.
We’ll start our trek on Trinidad State Beach, with a windswept beach and crashing Pacific waves. We’ll wind our way past Pewetole Island towards College Cove. As we make our way up the bluffs to Omenaku Point, you can see the beach from a new perspective, seeing the surfers catch a wave.
As we make our way to the top of the bluff, your guide will point out the rich variety of native plants and wildlife. Our hike will take us through sleepy spruce forests and out towards Elk Head, for an epic view of the vast Pacific.
With a bit of elevation gain and diverse terrain, this hike is considered moderate, but perfect for tourists, families, or nature lovers wanting a hike with beautiful vistas at every step.
